Why is Glass Transparent Although Solids

Have you ever wondered why the color of glass was clear or transparent? Here is a scientific explanation that had been collected from various sources.
As we know, glass is solid objects. And the logic said that the solid materials have a dense molecule so that light would not be able to enter. Actually, the glass is colorless, but can be caught by the eye impressed white. An explanation of the color of the glass is very related to the sciences such as physics and chemistry.
Glass is formed from Silicon Dioxide (SiO2) which is basically a material of sand and stone. The arrangement of the atoms that make up the glass to be skipped by the photons (particles of light), so it does not absorb light or can be said to be impermeable to light.
The explanation is as follows: The molecules of solid objects normally bind tightly to each other, because it is, generally rays can not penetrate solid objects. In liquids and gases, the molecules move freely and have a lot of empty space between the molecules. That is why the light easily penetrate materials such as gasses and liquid. Glass is made by melting sand and cool it back. The materials that formed glass eventually become dense and stiff, but still has a freely moving molecules such as molecular properties of liquids, so that the empty space between the glass molecules is passable by light, although glass is a solid object.
As a result of the nature of glass that can be passed by the light, the glass will look transparent or translucent derived from photons that would not be caught by the glass because it does not have enough energy. Thus, the light does not affect glass and glass will still look clear.
The most affect the appearance of an object (or material) is the light falling on the surface of the object. If the object does not absorb photons, then it will remain clear. While solid objects can absorb the light will have a color.
transparent means transmitting light; able to be seen through with clarity
explanation is a statement that makes something comprehensible by describing the relevant structure or operation or circumstances etc
a solid is opposed to a liquid or gas, has a size and shape to it.
dense means not admitting of penetration or passage into or through
impress means have an emotional or cognitive impact upon
physics is the science of matter and energy and their interactions.
chemistry is the science of matter; the branch of the natural sciences dealing with the composition of substances and their properties and reactions
photon is a quantum of electromagnetic radiation; an elementary particle that is its own antiparticle
to absorb is to take in or suck up like a sponge
impermeable is preventing especially liquids to pass or diffuse through
tightly is in a tight or constricted manner
ray is a group of nearly parallel lines of electromagnetic radiation
penetrate means pass into or through, often by overcoming resistance
stiff is incapable of or resistant to bending
passable means able to be passed or traversed or crossed
a translucent material lets light pass through, but objects on the other side can’t be seen clearly
derive means come from
appearance is outward or visible aspect of a person or thing
