Formula E, Electric Car Race

This is the first electric car racing in the world, Formula E.

Formula E is first organized in 2014. The organization that host this racing event is the FIA or Federation Internationale de l’Automobile. This organization is also known as the hosts for Formula 1 and various other international races.
10 Round, 10 Cities
Formula E was started from September 2014 to June 2015. This electric car racing is held in 10 rounds in 10 cities in 10 countries. There are: Beijing, Buenos Aires, London, and so on. In each city, the race only lasts one day, from practicing, qualifying, and racing.
Electric car race was followed by 10 teams. Each team consists of 2 drivers. The drivers had already competed in numerous international car races such as Formula 1. Uniquely, in this race, there are two female drivers.
The Battery is a 200 Kilowatts
Formula-E racing cars are an electric powered cars. The cars are sported a 200 kilowatts (kW) battery. This battery power is same with 270 horsepower. As a comparison, a formula 1 racing car has the full power of 600 horsepower. In addition, Formula E driver must only use the power of 150kW.
In Formula E, there is only 1 pitstop. At the pitstop, driver may not recharge the battery. However, the drivers can change the car. Yes, every driver has 2 racing car. So, when they entered the pitstop, the driver immediately out from his first car, then get in to the second car.
The Support of Fans
In this electric car races, fans can participate in selecting their favorite driver at the Formula-E website. The three favorite formula-E racer, will get additional power from 150 kW to 180 kW. The additional power is used only for 5 seconds in the race.
