Dragon Hole at South China Sea

This big hole in the middle of the sea was named as Dragon Hole. Is that really a dragon inside that hole? Let’s see.
The Legend of the Dragon and the Monkey King
This blue hole which located in the middle of the South China Sea, actually was found by China’s scientist. This hole then was named as Dragon Hole. This name was taken from The Legend of Monkey King which is believed by local community. Dragon Hole was said in Ming Dynasty’s story which is entitled in Journey to the West. In this story, there was The Monkey King which got a Magic Stick from Under Sea Kingdom led by a Dragon.
The Deepest Hole
Scientifically, Dragon Hole is a natural phenomenon called as sinkhole or broken hole. Before this dragon hole was found, the deepest broken hole was Dean’s Blue Hole in Bahama archipelago. This hole has 202 meter of depth, but now the deepest hole was held by The Dragon Hole in South China Sea. This hole was 300.89 meter depth. Imagine that Eiffel tower can be placed inside this hole.
The Broken Hole
This broken hole under the sea was formed from carbonate rocks. After a long time, this carbonate rocks dissolved in the bottom layer. So, the cave was formed or broken hole was formed slowly, or even was formed in the short time.
Until now, scientists from China still researching what life form habited in this giant hole.
